Wisdom tooth removal is a surgery for pull your teet. It removes one or sometimes all of your wisdom teeth. They do it when the tooth does not have room to grow in your mouth. It is sometimes impacted in your gums. It results in very bad pain or serious infection. It can be done by either a dentist or oral surgeon.

It is more of a preventative measure then anything. Some risks of wisdom tooth removal are: severe infection, dry socket which can be painful, damage to sinuses which can be severe and damage to nerves in your mouth which can be very painful.
Local or general anesthesia is used to have them removed it is up to you and your dentist or oral surgeon to determine what is the best anesthesia option. Rest afterwards a lot and also drink a lot of water. You should only eat soft food after they are taken out, take pain medicine to help with your pain, there may be some bleeding which can be prolonged and severe. Don’t smoke for 24 hours afterward at all because you want your mouth to heal correctly.
